Japanese Oak Wilt scripted presentation
A scripted presentation that aims to introduce one to Japanese oak wilt, a disease not known to be in the United States that poses a serious risk to US urban and forest ecosystems should it be introduced. USDA has been and continues to survey for this disease and the insect vector--Platypus quercivorus, but we ask that members of the Sentinel Plant Network keep their eyes out for it as well. Monitoring for Japanese oak wilt is difficult because damage symptoms look like those caused by other diseases, drought or stress.
**This disease is not known to be in North America so these training and diagnostic materials are intended for public garden and other green industry professionals working on the front lines.
